Sing to the Lord!
Que Canten!!!!!
To say that music is important in the worship of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church community is quite an understatement. Our weekend Masses are accompanied by music in three different languages - All told we have 5 different music groups to accompany all five of our Masses. Visitors are often surprised that every verse of every song is sung. But, here in Immokalee, singing and music are not confined to the celebration of the Sunday Mass, and not just to our weekday Masses either.
Rather music is central to our Christian life together, and is present at most of our events and meetings throughout the week. Our rosary group sings together outside in the shrine on Sunday afternoons, until the sun sets. The Haitian community joins in Creole song every Tuesday. Our teen group sings contemporary Christian music together every Wednesday night. Our Couples for Christ group sings and plays instruments together every Thursday night. Our Spanish charismatic prayer group celebrates with songs of praise to the Lord throughout the evenings on Friday nights. In this community it is hardly possible to gather or to pray without song.
The music of the community is filled with happy Latin rythms, touching English melodies, and powerful French Creole harmonies. Interestingly, even in our Spanish speaking Masses, the styles of music vary, representing numerous different cultures - from various states of Mexico, to the indigenous, Mayan music of Guatemala.

We have an active and vibrant teen group.
The teens love LIVE, progressive Christian music - at times performances, with instruments, given by members of the teen group -- and always - every meeting - those times when every one of the teens sings together!
